PetsApp announces game-changing collaboration with Covetrus and National Veterinary Services (NVS) to expand its prescription home delivery offering

PetsApp announces their latest collaboration with Covetrus and long-time partner NVS to provide Prescriptions Home Delivery service. The game-changing collaboration between the number one pet health app in the UK, PetsApp, and veterinary wholesalers NVS and Covetrus, empowers veterinary clinics to deliver prescription medications directly to pet owners’ doors. The partnership redefines convenience in pet healthcare, enabling veterinary teams to streamline prescription management, elevate client satisfaction and allow independent clinics the ability to compete with larger more disruptive online players within the industry.

“We worked with our clinic partners to build a Prescriptions feature that simplifies day-to-day admin while being safe, auditable, and dependable. We’re excited to help give your practice back valuable time to focus on patient outcomes!”

  • Samuel Robinson, Senior Product Manager, PetsApp

In an era where many of the veterinary profession want to leave the industry as they feel overworked and under-appreciated PetsApp is overhauling the historically unrealistic workloads of veterinary teams and creating outcomes that not only enhance the prospects of a veterinary clinic but also the quality of care their teams can deliver. By abstracting away the complexity of managing logistics, payments and communication, PetsApp is enabling clinics to offer convenience to pet owners without having to overstretch their vet teams, ultimately empowering local veterinary clinics to compete against larger online disruptors and win back share of wallet.

  • Erin Sparks, MD at Covetrus, said:

“We are excited to partner with PetsApp as part of an expansion of Direct Dispense by Covetrus. This partnership allows practices to deliver exceptional service to their customers while reducing their administrative burdens. Offering next-day delivery and further bespoke delivery options, along with practices being able to contact our on-site veterinarians, we offer a unique and unparalleled level of service. We have also recently invested in expanding our Direct Dispense facility to ensure we meet growing demand while maintaining the speed and quality of service our customers know us for.”

PetsApp’s prescription platform offers unique productivity and flexibility, that unlike most other services in its field, allows clinics to fully automatically set up annual anti-parasitics prescription and home deliveries, and to easily modify any content in the prescription at any time.

“At NVS, our commitment lies in providing PetsApp users with the highest quality service and support. Our recent investment in a state-of-the-art, sustainable facility allows us to expand on and further enhance the longstanding service to Pets App Practices and their customers.”

– Martin Riley, MD at NVS

Built by the community for the community. PetsApp was co-founded and is headed up by qualified veterinarian Dr. Thom Jenkins. And in typical PetsApp style, pack members Trina Yau (Pharmacist turned Full Stack Developer) and Claire Cameron RVN have together played a big role in both building and tailoring PetsApp’s Prescription Home Delivery feature to fit the needs of those it will serve: veterinary teams and the pets they support.

“In my experience the best way to ensure integrity of any tech you utilize is to make sure that it has been developed by the community it was meant for.”

–  Will Monk, Cofounder and CTO, PetsApp

Now further levelling up the offering with an integration from Covetrus, who alongside their team of SQPs also have 2 full time vets overseeing their dispensary. They also already fulfil circa 5,000 orders on next day delivery to pet parents’ homes on behalf of their customers. Jack Dixon, Marketing Lead at Covetrus, attributes their success to prioritising the needs of veterinary practices. “Practices aim to deliver exceptional service that combines speed, quality, and fosters customer loyalty. These priorities were central to developing our range of delivery option while ensuring all products are dispensed under the supervision of our on-site qualified veterinarian. We take pride in being the silent fulfilment partner for Practices, strengthening their relationships with clients.”
