AVACA’s Census deadline is extended
Last month, The Association of Veterinary Animal Care Assistants (AVACA) launched a Census to gather more information about the roles of Veterinary Care Assistants (VCAs) and Animal Nursing Assistants (ANAs) in the UK. As practices are continuing to provide high quality information, AVACA has made the decision to extend the deadline to the end of this month (31st August). The Census, which is sponsored by Purina Petcare, takes just ten minutes to complete, and provides AVACA with valuable information to better support the recruitment, training, and development of VCAs and ANAs. The Census can be completed online at .
Kay Watson-Bray, CEO of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and founder of AVACA comments, “With so little information available about the roles of VCAs and ANAs in the UK, every practice response we receive helps us to better understand the needs of VCAs and ANAs in the UK, allowing us to provide more tailored support in the future. We are hoping that, by extending the deadline to the end of the month, we will be able to boost our responses even further and grow our data pool”.
Regardless of whether a practice currently employs VCAs and ANAs, contributing to the Census will help AVACA to better understand the potential for the role in practice and the contribution to the one team approach.
The Census can be completed by anyone within a veterinary practice. Where possible, it is recommended that the individual has a degree of knowledge on how their practice could, or does, support the needs of VCA’s and ANA’S. Contribute to the AVACA 2023 Census by the 31st August at .
