Vet Nurse development pathway launched by Purina®

Purina® has today launched its Nurture: Nurse Development Pathway. The CPD programme is free to complete, with flexible online access and built in support. Across four progressive modules, participants will be able to grow their nutrition knowledge, from core principles through to advanced clinical application. Completion of each module generates rewards and finishing all four modules unlocks optional one-to-one high level personal coaching support. Veterinary Nurses can take part by contacting their Purina Veterinary Nutrition Partner to gain access to the pathway.
While the pathway offers complete freedom to dip in and out around the demands of a busy workplace, it represents a generous 90 hours of certified study across the four multimedia modules. Learners can expect to access webinars, podcasts, practical tools for clinical assessment, worksheets, guides and protocols.
Purina Veterinary Nurse Development Manager, Laura Hughes RVN C&G Cert SAN, says that the pathway aims to make a real difference to practices as well as individuals, “The pathway is so much more than nutrition training. Of course we will be building knowledge, skills and confidence in pet nutrition, but we will also be providing access to practical tools to use in-clinic and a rolling programme of personal development skills. There will also be opportunities to connect with peers to share tips and solutions for everyday challenges and personal support from the Purina vet team and a qualified business coach.”
She affirms that the pathway design reflects the needs of today’s veterinary nurse, “Increasing recognition of their contribution has encouraged veterinary nurses to further grow their own potential and we are seeing a real drive to upskill in every aspect of client and patient care. There is significant demand to access training and mentoring that will help them thrive within a demanding clinical environment and enhance the opportunities for career progression. It’s a real pleasure for us to partner with them and help them and their practices succeed.”
Registration for the pathway is a simple process with initial interest captured at https://forms.office.com/e/DbRQDktqzf.
