Behind the Scenes: Bringing Inspired Vet to Life

Brand – Veterinary Woman
Veterinary Woman is an initiative aimed at inspiring women in all areas of the veterinary profession. It provides resources to help increase confidence, overcome challenges, and encourage leadership aspirations. The aim is to support women to become leaders in every area of veterinary influence.
The challenge
Develop, write and design the Inspired Vet eBook
Veterinary Woman has long championed inspirational women in the industry, sharing their stories to inspire relatability, motivation, and solidarity. Inspired Vet expands the focus to include all veterinary professionals across a variety of roles and fields. The aim is to explore topics supporting professional and personal development to help vet professionals find deeper satisfaction in their careers.
Jenny Langridge, editor of Veterinary Woman, explains the vision behind the project:
“In the face of the ongoing recruitment and retention crisis in the veterinary professions, we wanted to highlight the versatility and range of veterinary careers. Finding satisfaction in working life is important for wellbeing, so we wanted to help inspire and empower vet professionals to explore what possibilities might benefit their own unique career path.”
As a team, we took on the full creation of the eBook—from developing the format, planning content, sourcing contributors and editing copy to designing the publication and orchestrating the promotional campaign.

Our solution
We consulted with Veterinary Woman’s editorial board and stakeholders and examined readership research which identified the desire for practical information on clinical and non-clinical topics as well as a strong interest in role models, which are a positive encouragement in career paths.
We connected with a diverse network of professionals, inviting them to contribute to a mix of practical articles on clinical and non-clinical topics, and profiles of vet professionals enjoying a fulfilling career. This structure provides information to refresh existing skills and progress learning, as well as ideas about different career possibilities to help boost confidence.
We conceived and created the eBook design to align with Veterinary Woman’s branding, while establishing its own identity. An appealing lifestyle look is inviting and easy to read.
Finally, we created a beautifully designed flipbook plus individual profile and article sections hosted on the Veterinary Woman website, and a launch campaign including social media, PR and email newsletters.

Results
The Inspired Vet eBook has performed exceptionally well. Over the first five months, the first issue gained nearly 400 views and the second issue reached over 450 views.. Inspired Vet content across the website exceeded 1,100 views.
A dedicated Inspired Vet newsletter achieved an open rate of 50% and social media gained significant traction, reaching over 15,000 people, and driving nearly 200 engagements.
